【摘要】:ThispartofIEC60793establishesuniformrequirementsforthemechanicalcharacteristicfibrecurlorlatentcurvature,inuncoatedopticalfibres.Fibrecurlhasbeenidentifiedasanimportantparameterforminimizingthesplicelossofopticalfibreswhenusingpassivealignmentfusionsplicersoractivealignmentmassfusionsplicers.Twomethods,presentedinAnnexesAandBrespectively,arerecognizedforthemeasure-mentoffibrecurl,inuncoatedopticalfibres:·methodA:sideviewmicroscopy;·methodB:laserbeamscattering.Thesideviewmicroscopyproceduremeasurestheradiusofcurvatureofanuncoatedfibrebydeterminingtheamountofdeflectionthatoccursasanunsupportedfibreendisrotatedaboutthefibre'saxis.Thelaserbeamscatteringproceduremeasuresfibrecurlinanopticalfibrebylaserbeamscattering.Byknowingthemaximumdeflectionofthefibreandtheoverhangdistancefromthefibrefixturetothemeasurementpoint,thefibre'sradiusofcurvaturecanbecalculatedfromasimplecircularmodel,thederivationofwhichisgiveninannexC.BothmethodsareapplicabletotypesA1,A2,A3andBopticalfibres.MethodAisthereferencetestmethod,usedtoresolvedisputes.
