【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationandcomparisonoftheresistanceofsolidorganicdielectricmaterialstotheinitiationorgrowth,orboth,oftubulartree-likechannelsresultingfrompartialdischarge(corona)andmoleculardecompositionthatoccurintheregionofveryhigh,divergingelectricfields.Thistestmethodisprimarilyforuseatapowerfrequencyof50or60Hz.1Thetestmaybecarriedoutatroomtemperatureortemperaturesaboveorbelowroomtemperature.Thetemperatureshouldnotexceedthesofteningormeltingpointofthesamplematerial.Thistestmethodcanbeusedforanysolidmaterialintowhichneedlescanbecast,molded,orinsertedwithheataftermolding.Theresistancetotreeinitiationismeasuredbythedouble-needlecharacteristicvoltage,whichisonlyapplicabletonon-opaquematerialssothattreecanbeobservedoptically.Theresistancetotreeinitiationandgrowthisreportedbythedouble-needlevoltagelife,whichisapplicabletobothopaqueandnon-opaquematerials.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
